Have you ever wondered how the Chinese can send letters to heaven to the Jade Emperor?
The video above shows you some heavenly letters that you can burn and send to the Jade Emperor.
Yesterday I shared with you the escape story of the saved Hokkien people in the Song Dynasty and their thanksgiving. Today is a continuation which I share about the paper offerings to the Jade Emperor.
Some have termed the 9th day of the lunar new year as the birthday of the Jade Emperor too. Besides using joss sticks to send gratitude to the Jade Emperor, birthday cards and celebratory paper with gold motif imprints (seen in the video) are also part and parcel of the sacred offerings! For example, the Chinese character of "寿“ (longevity) is often used in the celebratory paper beside happiness, wealth and prosperity. The celebration is complete when the celebratory paper is burnt and well wishes are sent to the heavens.
OXOX!
