Based on the traditional Tongshu (the Chinese lunar calendar), I waited for a Success Day to launch my domain, Quaintly Qi. It has been a four day wait. As on this Success Day, I read that today is a good day to launch new business, sign contracts, starting a new job etc.
Registering a domain name is signing a contract with the domain provider and on a success day is also tapping on the good qi for the day. I find the Chinese Tongshu fascinating and the wisdom of old Chinese sages even more enlightening. They were already categorising days into Success Day, Establish Day, Danger day etc in the old days.
What is success?
What is success to you?
To me success is subjective. I am happy with achieving baby steps which I think will add up towards my goal to become a better person who is useful and happy. That is success to me.
In our current materialistic society, many define success in their possession or the accumulation of material things. I think there is nothing wrong with wanting to be successful with having a Porsche, land, real estate etc.
However when one is sucked into it, I do not think "success" applies anymore. This leads me to talk about people will lose interest in material things in the next 20 years (Period 9). By then, many will seek spiritual growth and development, and redefine what success means to them.
Are you a successful person now? If you just switch your focus, you may see yourself as a very successful person many times over.
