Yi Jing Divination

Yi Jing Divination

Earlier on, I wrote on the origins of  Yi Jing and brought to your attention great names associated with the founding of Yi Jing.

To many, the Yi Jing or Chinese Oracle pertains to philosophy, divination or plain wisdom for the common person today.

The Yi Jing was spared from burning during Emperor Shi Huang Ti as it was told to him that it was a book for the common man who used it for divination.  If you already know, Emperor Shi Huang Ti wanted to burn all the books used by the scholars during his time in order to suppress the scholarly class.  In a twist of events, the great Yi Jing which holds the secrets to the Universe was spared.  I think that the Yi Jing itself knew that it would be spared and thus is able to influence us till this day.

If you use the Yi Jing for divination, you have to accept the message that it conveys to you.  As a tool for divination as compared to Qimen Dunjia, I see that Yi Jing divination is quite fatalistic. However if you are also aware, being the Book of Changes, the wisdom of the Yi Jing is that because of the taiji, change is the constant that you should also be aware of.

Let me share my personal story with you regarding divination which I encountered early this year.  I picked a Yi Jing divination card as the year of focus which pointed to health and it got me stumped.  Honestly, I am the type who is very seldom ill and have been healthy all these years.

Truth be told, I started feeling weak last month (March) and felt fatigue all over.  It is like my old smart phone battery that was always at that red alert of 19%.  In these 2 days, I am nursing a sore throat with cold symptoms.

Then I went to check my annual bazi chart and saw that all my energies for this year have gone down.  Fire, Water and Earth elements on my annual natal chart show a 10 to 20% decrease!

So what should I be looking out for?  I have to be extra careful not to strain my eyes (fire), my immunity (water) and physical body(earth).  These are the things which are priority this year as my health is my wealth.  As I blog now, I keep sneezing and have to drink water every 30 minutes.

This poor health state will all pass as I am determined to get well.  Change is the only constant based on the wisdom of  Yi Jing.

As the heat will rise globally and summers will get hotter than usual, my advice to all of you is to conserve water as there will be droughts coming our way.  Pay heed to protect yourself from the heat and sun. Hydrate yourselves well.

I wish all of you well and happier.

Be kinder to yourself and to your loved ones.

Namaste!
