Transitions 2024
For the last 2 days, the investor world was abuzz with news of the passing of 2 influential men who were Charlie Munger and Henry Kissinger.
If you have read my blog in my earlier pages, I talked about the end of Period 8 energy and the beginning of Period 9 energy. Young men who made the headlines in period 7 and 8 would be bowing out and women would be at the helm.
In Period 9, the headlines would be more about feminine energy or of known persons who are female.
We need to look at history 180 years ago to gain optics of what can occur again as history repeats itself. Looking at China, the 2 failed opium wars were fought with Britain and then Britain & France which left a significant impact on China.
On the religious front in 1844, the YMCA was formed. The Baha’i faith was founded by Siyyid `Alí-Muhammad of Shiraz, Iran, who proclaimed himself “the Báb,” a title meaning “the Gate.” The founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, Joseph Smith, and his brother Hyrum Smith were killed by a mob in Carthage, Illinois.
In the arts and culture arena, a few works of notable merit were seen. First, the first perfume launched by a couturier, designer Houbigant, was introduced. The iconic novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas was completed in 1844. Mary Cassatt, an American painter and printmaker, was born on in 1844 to become one of the leading figures in the Impressionist movement. "Le Corsaire," a ballet typically presented in three acts, was first performed in France in 1844 which continue to be a popular choice for ballet companies worldwide today.
Looking back through the historical lens, we can expect some big things coming our way. The dust would settle eventually but let us get through 2024 unruffled first.
